New ropeways for Scandinavia

Six ski resorts in Scandinavia have opted for ropeway technologies from LEITNER
  • Record time realisation and compact construction methods characterise our projects
  • Premium equipment with comfort upholstery, seat heating and weather protection bonnets offer maximum comfort
  • Innovative systems enable efficient year-round transport, including bicycle transport

The construction of the CD6C "Vidsynexpressen" 6-seater chairlift in the Hafjell Alpine Centre has increased the transport capacity of the Norwegian ski resort by 2,600 people per hour. In neighbouring Hemsedal, the new "LodgeX" 6-seater chairlift operated with LEITNER DirectDrive and the "Parkheis" surface lift will also bring modern comfort and a significant increase in transport capacity to the ski resort's 44 kilometres of slopes in the coming ski season.

In Järvsö, Sweden, around 2,600 people per hour can now be transported comfortably over a distance of around one kilometre in the new 2023/24 winter season thanks to the "Västexpressen" 6-seater chairlift. The ski resort is particularly popular with families and has already put an identical LEITNER lift into operation in 2018. In Idre, in central Sweden, the new SL1 "Polaris 2" platter lift will be the tenth transport option in the ski resort to go into operation this season, transporting up to 800 people per hour.

CD8C Masto III

Finland's first 8-seater chairlift in the Ruka ski resort will offer an impressive transport capacity of 4,000 people per hour.

Equipped with premium seats including comfort upholstery, seat heating, weather protection bonnets and vibration dampers, our systems offer comfortable transport even under the toughest conditions. This is what we at LEITNER mean by customised comfort, which we offer every customer.

Versatile application possibilities

Whether in Järvsö, Sweden, or in Ruka, Finland - our ropeways are tailored to the individual conditions and needs of the ski resorts: from family-friendly ski resorts to resorts of international importance.

We are also setting new standards for year-round operation in the far north. In the winter sports area of Åre, the concept of our partner easyloopsystem on the new SL2 "Sadelliften" enables bike transport in the summer months. Supported by the LEITNER bike mount, the operators in Ruka, Finland, are also focussing on year-round use.

Speed and efficiency

Our projects are characterised by efficient implementation - as with the CD8C "Masto III" in Ruka, which was built in just five months and offers a compact design with innovative garaging technology in the valley station.

At LEITNER, we understand the challenges and opportunities facing ski resort operators, local authorities and decision-makers in the tourism and mountain sports sectors. Our mission is to contribute to the optimal development of destinations with customised, future-proof transport solutions. In the current projects in Scandinavia, we have impressed with our reliable work and unique, cutting-edge components.
